About This Book
This study of Malaysia's 8 March 2008 12th General Election is the fruit of fieldwork in different areas during the electoral campaign by three social scientists. It is of course widely recognised that the result in which the ruling Barisan National lost 5 States is a watershed in the country's history. An extensively referenced paper on Opposition activity 2007-8 is followed by analyses of the origins of the major changes in opinion, and the third paper is on the ethnic voting pattern for Kuala Lumpur and Selangor.
