About This Book
John Sung (1901-1944) was born in Fujian and studied for his PhD in chemistry in the US. After difficult experiences in a theology college he returned to China in 1928 and thence forward worked as a Christian evangelist. These newly translated extracts from from his diary tell of unexpected and sometimes dramatic impacts his preaching had in many places in China and also in Nanyang, including Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and Vietnam (some impacts of John Sung's preaching are still evident today). He died in Beijing in 1944. With archival photographs, summaries of Sung's teaching, 2011 epilogue, notes by three people whose lives have been influenced by Sung, and index.
