The concept of nation has been much altered and discussed in post-colonial historical analysis. In this symposium, 23 academics from various disciplines explore the validity of "nation" as a tool for critical interpretation of the patterns and events associated with nationalism and imperialism. Much material is drawn from British history but US, Spanish, French, German and South Asian scholarship and experience are also brought together into the discussion. With reference lists, bibliography and index.
