Originally planned as a supplementary catalogue to the 1988 exhibition of the 16th-21st century coinage of the Brunei sultanate, this volume sheds light on the history of coinage in a larger area. Exhibits and information presented shed light on the complex post-16th century development of the Sultanate, The regional coinage of Borneo and the local Chinese coinage of Sambas and also the foreign influences and coinages used in the Archipelago.
