These 18 papers, four in Korean, are from the first Pacific Asia Conference on Korean Studies held at Jawaharlal Nehru University. The papers in Part 1 are on aspects of the history of Korea/Japan/China/India political and trade interchange. Part 2 explores religion and papers are on Korean forms of Buddhism with one on Shamanism and another on the Agrarian Movement. The six papers in Part 3 look at cultural interchange including on 21st-century newspapers and on the construction of Korea's collective memory.
