The December 1999 Art and Peace happening in Bali was a mammoth event in which the Balinese artist Made Wianta with 2000 dancers, banners , a boat and a helicopter created performance art on a Bali beach. Essays and photographs of the event and discussion of its symbolism celebrate one of the largest-ever comunity-based artworks dedicated to peace and non-violence.
