In 2008 Melaka became with Penang a UNESCO World Heritage City. This collection of aerial and other photographs with explanatory commentaries enables the reader to share Melaka's ancient heritage and recent development. The 300 or so photographs illustrate the city's Historical Background Heritage Core Zone, Forts, Places of Worship, development outside the Heritage Zone, and environs of the surrounding area.
