Philippines-born Pacita Abad (1946-2004) was one of Asia's most creative contemporary artists; her vivid paintings and works of art are to be seen in many places in Asia and beyond. In her last years she spent much time in Singapore and one of Pacita's last achievements was perhaps the startling repainting of the grey Alkaff Bridge, which now enlivens Singapore's riverscape. This volume in full colour show Pacita's aims in the innovative Alkaff Bridge project, how the work was done, and also the popular place the painted bridge now has in Singapore's daytime and nighttime life. With a pictorial chronology of Pacita's life and artistic achievements.
