These two volumes by the noted Indologist Mirelle B��nisti (1909-1993) form a comprehensive study of the Indo-Khmer art of the 6th and 7th century CE. Volume 1 offers and detailed account of the interlocking relationship between early Khmer Indian sculpture and iconography. There are also sections on research done on the art of Persia followed by notes of Khmer iconography. Volume 2 contains over 500 black-and-white photographs of motifs and artefacts referred to in the first volume.
