Published to complement the ongoing exhibition at the Asian Civilisations Museum, this softback illustrates artefacts which demonstrate the many external cultures which have influenced Sumatra's life and trade. Five major cultural streams - from India, China, the Islamic world, the region, and Europe - are discerned.
